Haridwar Storm enter women’s UPL final, beat Pithoragarh Hurricanes

Dehradun, 25 Sept: Nandini Kaushik scored an unbeaten 57 off 45 balls, but it could not save Pithoragarh Hurricanes as Haridwar Storm won by 3 wickets on Thursday. With this win, Storm secured a place in the final of the 2025 Women’s Uttarakhand Premier League.
Batting first, Hurricanes lost early wickets of Muskan Kumari and Manisha Kunwar. Ananya Mehra scored 11 before being run out. Kaushik played brilliantly, hitting eight boundaries and helping her team reach 107 for 4. Captain Mansi Joshi also supported her well, adding 54 runs for the fourth wicket.
Safina Aziz was the best bowler for Storm, taking 2 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs. Chasing 108, Haridwar Storm batted steadily. Openers Jyoti Giri and Dipika Chand gave a strong start with 49 runs. Giri was out leg before in the last ball of the powerplay, and Chand, who scored 24 off 18 balls, was run out soon after.
Hurricanes took a few more wickets, with Ananya Mehra picking three. But lower-order batswomen Kanak Tapraniya and Safina Aziz scored quick runs to help Storm win with 21 balls remaining.
Safina Aziz was named Player of the Match for her excellent performance with both bat and ball.
Hurricanes are now out of the tournament. Storm will face Tehri Queens in the final on Friday at 3 pm. In the last league match of the day, Tehri Queens will play Mussoorie Thunders.
