Dehradun, 27 Jan: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Dehradun, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will organise a media workshop, ‘Vartalap’, on 28 January from 9:30 a.m. in Tehri district, on the subject of ‘Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act 2025 (VB-G RAM G). Important information related to the Act will be shared with journalists, and they will also be informed about how effective and impactful this Act will be for employment in rural areas.
This one-day media workshop will be held in the auditorium of the District Magistrate’s office, New Tehri. The main objective of this programme is to establish a meaningful dialogue between district-level officials, departmental representatives, beneficiaries, and journalists of Tehri, discussing the information, progress, and ground reality of the public impact of VB-G RAM Act.
Assistant Director, PIB Dehradun, Sanjeev Sundriyal said that this programme will be used to promote the VB-G RAM G Act. He also informed that, under this Act, the statutory guarantee of employment has now been increased to 125 days, which was 100 days under MNREGA. He said that this Act will provide a new direction to rural empowerment and inclusive development, strengthening the foundation of a prosperous, capable, and self-reliant rural India. He further informed that this Act replaces the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005, and provides a modern statutory framework to strengthen livelihood security, which is in line with the national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. Sundriyal stated that programmes like “Vartalap” are creating a platform for interaction between the government and the media. This platform facilitates better communication through deliberation and discussion. The “Vartalap” program will establish a new direction for transparent communication between the administration and the public in Tehri district of Garhwal division and will further accelerate the effective implementation of the VB-G Ram G Act.
