New Delhi, 28 Jan: A condolence meeting was held today at the Press Club of India, New Delhi, where heartfelt tributes were paid to former Tehri MLA Balveer Singh Negi.
The meeting was chaired by Uttarakhand Congress Vice President Dhirendra Pratap and was attended by senior journalists and prominent personalities including Dev Singh Rawat, Suresh Nautiyal, Vyomesh Jugran, Shrikant Bhatia, Rajeshwar Painyuli, Laxman Rawat, Vijay Sati, Atul Sachdeva, Raj Thakur, Sunil Negi, and Anil Path.
Speakers remembered late Balveer Singh Negi as a fearless, honest, and people-centric leader, deeply connected with public issues and grassroots concerns. They highlighted his commitment to democratic values and his unwavering stand for the welfare of the people.
Addressing the gathering, Dhirendra Pratap said that Balveer Singh Negi was among the most dedicated and prominent disciples of the late Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna. He remarked that had there been no manipulation by disruptive elements in his constituency, Balveer Singh Negi would have continued to serve as an MLA throughout his life.
The meeting concluded with collective condolences and prayers for the departed soul, remembering his lasting contribution to the political and social life of Uttarakhand.
