Speaker provides furniture from MLA Fund for GIC, Jhandichaur

Kotdwar, 30 Jan: A grand and enthusiastic annual function and furniture distribution programme was organized at Government Inter College, Jhandichaur, here, today. The programme was attended by Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan as the Chief Guest.

On this occasion, she provided 345 pieces of furniture to the school from her MLA fund. The school had been facing a shortage of furniture for a long time, causing inconvenience to students. With the availability of new furniture, students will now have a better, safer, and more comfortable learning environment.

During the programme, students of the school presented colourful cultural performances, including folk dances, patriotic songs, skits, and group dances. The beautiful and disciplined performances by the children captivated the guests and parents present at the event.

On the occasion of the annual function, information and service-based stalls were also set up by various government departments. These included stalls related to Jan Aushadhi Kendra, Aadhaar card services, and other public welfare schemes. People were provided information about government schemes and services were also made available on the spot. These stalls attracted special interest from parents and local citizens.

It is worth noting that, earlier as well, through the efforts of Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, several important development works have been carried out in the school, including the construction of a public gymnasium, tin shed, dining-cum-hostel facility, and repair of school roofs, which have significantly strengthened the school’s infrastructure.

At the conclusion of the programme, the school administration and teachers expressed their gratitude to the chief guest. The school principal stated that such support not only enhances educational facilities but also boosts the morale of students.

The programme was attended by Principal Sohan Lal, Sadhvi Avshri Bharti, Mandal President Ashish Rawat, Councillor JP Bahukhandi, Jitendra Negi, Anand Ghildiyal, Naval Kishor, Vivek Bharti, Rameshwari Devi, Kuldeep Rawat, Sita Devi, Babita Gwadi, departmental officials, teachers, parents, and a large number of students.
