A Symphony of Words: Kasiga Lit Fest ends on a high note

DEHRADUN, 30 Nov: The Kasiga Literature Festival, a vibrant celebration of literature, creativity, and self-expression, came to a close on Saturday. The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of renowned writer and translator, Bijoya Sawian, Sushil Upadhyay, a distinguished academician and author and Vidya Singh, a celebrated author and former associate professor and head of the Hindi department, MKP (PG) College. Sawian, is a renowned writer and translator known for her works such as “The Teachings of Elders” and “Khasi Myths, Legends and Folktales”; Sushil Upadhyay, is a celebrated author and academician who has authored 18 books on language, media, and literature; and Vidya Singh, is a prolific writer known for her works such as “Naresh Mehta Ka Sahitya: Ek Anusheelan” and “Chandrika Babu Ki Gumti”.

The highlight of the festival was the panel discussion with the three chief guests, who shared their journeys and experiences as writers and academics. Bijoya Sawian enriched the students with valuable lessons for life, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and passion in pursuing one’s dreams. The ceremony began with a welcome address by the school’s Head of School, Rajput Surendra Singh, followed by a series of presentations by students.

The highlight of the ceremony was the award distribution, where students who had excelled in various literary and creative pursuits were felicitated.

The Kasiga Lit Fest may have come to a close, but its impact will be felt for a long time to come. As the renowned author, Neil Gaiman, once said, “A book is a dream that you hold in your hand.” This Fest was a celebration of those dreams.
