Dehradun, 28 Aug: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved with immediate effect the appointments of newly designated office‑bearers under the leadership of Abhinav Thapar in the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee’s social media department.
Senior Congress spokesperson and advocate Abhinav Thapar has been active in the Congress party organisation for a long period now and has served in various positions in NSUI, Youth Congress and the Pradesh Congress Committee. According to the party, Thapar has been entrusted with this important responsibility by the national leadership in recognition of his long service, active involvement and dedication. With the concurrence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, organisation general secretary K C Venugopal, Uttarakhand in‑charge Kumari Selja and the central leadership, Thapar has been given charge of the state committee’s social media wing.
Alongside his appointment as president of the department, Bharat Sharma and Harshit Singh Bisht have been named co‑chairpersons, while Madhusudan Sundariyal, Rohit Bhatt, Dinesh Chandra Tamta and Jasveer Kaur have been appointed coordinators.
The party leadership has expressed confidence that under Thapar’s guidance the newly appointed team will further strengthen the social media department of Uttarakhand Congress, effectively disseminate the organisation’s ideology, policies and programmes to the public and raise issues of public concern with greater force.
Congress workers and senior leaders have extended congratulations and best wishes to Thapar and all newly appointed office‑bearers, expressing faith that the new team will work with full commitment, energy and dedication to make the organisation stronger.
