Dehradun, 10 Feb: Members of the Uttarakhand Berozgar Sangh held talks with Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi at the Secretariat, here, today. They apprised the Additional Chief Secretary about their demands.

In response, Raturi said that the Chief Minister would be informed about the issues raised by them. She also appealed to them to keep their agitation peaceful.

The ACS said that the aim of the state government is to conduct recruitment examinations in a very fair and transparent manner. For this purpose, the country’s strictest anti-copying law had been enforced in Uttarakhand. She reminded that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had approved immediate promulgation of the ordinance related to Uttarakhand Competitive Examinations (Measures for Prevention and Redressal of Unfair Means in Recruitment Ordinance-2023). She stressed that the purpose of enacting such a strict law is to ensure that the youth of the state have a bright future and that all competitive examinations are held in a fair and transparent manner. The government wants to ensure that the youth are selected for jobs purely on the basis of merit and not by any unfair means. She added that no other state in the country had such a stringent law for this purpose. She reminded them that, for the past one year, complaints related to rigging in the examinations had been investigated with complete impartiality. As a result of the investigation, a large number of culprits are behind bars. The government has taken prompt action. A strong message has been sent to those who intend to cheat in recruitment examinations.
