ADG AP Anshuman reviews law & order situation in view of upcoming Assembly Session

Dehradun, 1 Feb: Additional Director General (ADG), AP Anshuman today reviewed the law and order situation in view of the upcoming Assembly Session through Video Conferencing. He issued directions to the Police officers to ensure peace and law and order and flawless security in view of the proposed assembly session from 5 February. ADG Anshuman directed the district and range level police officers to ensure a tight vigil of the security and law and order. He reminded them that, in this respect, detailed instructions had been given on 14 December, last year.

In view of the possibility of protests and demonstrations by some organisations against the presentation of the UCC Bill in the Assembly session, action should be taken to identify the organisations and by alerting the police/information system in their respective districts, necessary police arrangements should be made in time and further action taken. Instructions were given to all the district in-charges to ensure necessary action.

He added that during the assembly session, in addition to the police/PAC forces available in the districts, the police force made available to Dehradun district should be properly utilised to ensure peace. Only persons holding passes should be allowed to enter the Vidhan Sabha complex after proper checking/frisking. Barricading should be done daily at key places like the Vidhan Sabha complex, etc. BDS squads should be deployed in sufficient quantity. Instructions were given to post the PAC.

He also directed them to conduct thorough security checks using security equipment of all the vehicles entering the Assembly premises during the session. In view of the proposed or possible demonstrations by various organizations during the assembly session, instructions were given to prepare a traffic plan in advance and make arrangements for route diversion, etc., so that the general public does not have to face any kind of inconvenience. Instructions were given to appoint adequate number of security personnel on the towers/water tanks/telephone towers, etc., located around the Assembly building, so that no person can create an unpleasant situation by climbing these towers during the session.

It was stressed that during the session, adequate number of security personnel will be deployed to keep a vigilant eye on suspicious persons/objects in various crowded places of the city like bus station, railway station, taxi stands, main markets, parks, hotels, inns, dharamshalas, religious places etc.
