Agreements signed with AIIMS, Rishikesh, and Hans Foundation, on providing health services

DEHRADUN, 27 Dec: In the presence of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, an agreement with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for five years was signed to provide higher level medical services through Government Allopathic Hospital, Dhanaulti, District Tehri Garhwal, Primary Health Centre, Raiwala, Primary Health Centre, Thano, and the sub-centre at Ramnagar Danda, district Dehradun, at the Secretariat, here, on Thursday. The services will be extended if found satisfactory. The institute will provide prenatal, child birth and post natal, youth health, family welfare, national programmes, emergency medical services, OPD and IPD services free of cost and the state government will not pay anything to the institute.
To provide quality medical services to the people, the State Government and The Hans Foundation, New Delhi, has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under which the foundation will manage Government Allopathic Hospital, Khati, district Bageshwar, for five years and upon satisfactory services, the period will be extended to two more years.
The Foundation will provide one MBBS doctor, one pharmacist, one ward boy and one safai karamchari and also give 29 types of essential medicines to people free of cost. The Foundation will provide prenatal, child birth and post natal, youth health, family welfare, emergency medical services, OPD and IPD services free of cost and the state government will not pay anything to the Foundation.
A discussion was also held on opening an eye bank at AIIMS, Rishikesh. On the initiative of the Chief Minister, an agreement was reached to run sub-divisional hospitals at Thano, Raiwala, Danda and Narendernagar by AIIMS with the health department. The beneficiaries of “Atal Ayushman” scheme will also get medical facilities at AIIMS, Rishikesh. Secretary, Health, Nitish Jha, AIIMS, Rishikesh, Director Dr Ravi Kant, Director, General Health, Dr TK Pant, Special Executive Officer of Hans Foundation SM Mehta were present on the occasion.
