AIIMS confirms one more Covid death

RISHIKESH, 14 Jun: A 61-year-old man suffering from high fever died in AIIMS Rishikesh on 12 June. His corona report has returned positive. Apart from this, 5 more people have been found to be corona positive during the last 24 hours.
According to Harish Mohan Thapliyal, Public Relations Officer of AIIMS, Rishikesh, a 61-year-old man from Kotdwar, District Pauri Garhwal, came to the OPD of AIIMS Rishikesh on 10 June complaining of excessive fever. On 11 June, a sample was taken for a Covid test. Considering this person’s critical condition, he was admitted to the Covid isolation ward. But, he died on 12 June. The next day, the Covid test report returned positive.
He said that five other people were found positive on Sunday. One of them is a 23-year-old male from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. This person has been quarantined at the Seema Dental College, Rishikesh, from 13 June. The other is a 42-year-old male who returned to Rishikesh from Ghaziabad on 10 June. He said that this person currently resides in Geeta Nagar, Rishikesh. Apart from this, another 20-year-old youth who lives in Shivaji Nagar, Rishikesh, has also been found to be Covid positive. This young man is the attendant of a Corona patient already admitted in the AIIMS. The fourth case is of a 34-year-old woman. This woman’s husband is also undergoing treatment at the AIIMS Covid ward. The woman returned to Rishikesh from Delhi on 12 June and since then was quarantined in the housing development colony, Rishikesh, itself. Another woman, who is from Muzaffarnagar, was brought to AIIMS emergency on 13 June in an unconscious state. Her Covid test was taken but her family took her back to Muzaffarnagar against medical advice. When they were contacted about the positive report on the night of 13 June, her family members reported that she had died in Muzaffarnagar. Information has been given to the State Surveillance Officer regarding these matters.
