Aishika Paul of École Globale Girls’ School bags best player trophy of Doon Cup football tourney

DEHRADUN 27 Apr: École Globale International Girls’ School, Dehradun successfully hosted the 5th edition of the Doon Cup Football Tournament from March 24-26, 2026, bringing together young footballers from across the country for three days of spirited competition and sportsmanship.
Teams competed in the Under-15 and Under-19 categories, representing reputed institutions such as Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, DPS Greater Noida, Wynberg Allen, The Asian School, Pinegrove School, and others. The diversity and calibre of participating teams elevated the standard of the tournament, making for a highly competitive and engaging sporting event.
Over the course of three days, the tournament witnessed exceptional displays of skill, strategy, and sportsmanship. The matches were marked by swift footwork, tactical gameplay, and commendable team coordination, reflecting the high quality of training and dedication of the players. The spectators were treated to thrilling encounters, close finishes, and moments of brilliance that truly captured the spirit of the game.
In the Under-18 category, Pinegrove School, Himachal clinched the championship title, with the host school Ecole Globale finishing as runners-up. In the Under-15 category, DAV Amazinc FC emerged victorious, while DAV ZHA she Power secured the second position.
Individual excellence was also recognised, with players receiving trophies for Best defender, best midfielder, best goalkeeper in both categories. Aishika Paul of École Globale lifted the Best player of the tournament trophy, marking a proud moment for the host school.
The closing ceremony was held with great enthusiasm, where all participating teams and players were felicitated amidst much applause by the Principal, Kanchan Khandke, and the Vice Principal, Puja Pant.
The Doon Cup has, over the years, evolved into a proud sporting tradition of École Globale. More than just a competition, it serves as a meaningful platform that empowers young girls instilling in them the confidence to compete, the courage to lead, and the determination to excel.
