Dehradun, 17 Jul: On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Identity Cards will be issued to hawkers soon. The CM has directed that the street venders will have to mandatorily display these IDs on their stalls or carts.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Directorate of Urban Development has issued a letter to all the Municipal Commissioners, Executive Officers of the municipal bodies in the state to collect the details of all the street venders and hawkers and issue them identity cards and order them to compulsorily display these on their carts or stalls.
Urban Development Director Nitin Singh Bhadauria has issued instructions to the Municipal Commissioners, Executive Officers of all the municipal bodies in this regard.
As per the orders, the Identity Card to be provided to each street vendor or hawker will contain the code, name, address, photo of the hawker as well as the name of any name referent of the family, category (fixed or movable), in addition to the area or locality where the identity card owner will have permission to operate the business. Besides this, the licence to be issued will be periodical and the ID to be displayed on the carts or the fixed stalls will also mention the details of its validity.
