CM extends greetings to people on Republic Day

Dehradun, 25 Jan: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today extended his greetings to the people of the state on the eve of Republic Day. In his message, Dhami also informed the people that the government will soon implement the Uniform Civil Code in the state. He shared that the draft report of the committee constituted for a Uniform Civil Code would be available soon. The five member committee has finalised the draft of the proposed UCC. As soon as the draft is received, a session of the Assembly would be summoned and the law will be implemented in Uttarakhand, he asserted.
In his message, the Chief Minister saluted the freedom fighters, those who drafted the constitution and the statehood activists, and said that Republic Day celebrates the making of the Constitution of India. This unique Constitution has been continuously guiding the nation. The Republic Day also reminds the nation about the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. This occasion also inspires one to resolve to fulfil the dreams of the patriots. Under the Constitution, it is the responsibility of all to always remain committed to the basic democratic ideals of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.
Dhami claimed that the state government is committed to the development, welfare and progress of the people standing in the last line of society with the spirit of Antyodaya. Following the policy of zero tolerance towards corruption, a strict anti-copying law has been implemented in the state. Most of the public service have been put online. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is working rapidly in every field to bring Uttarakhand into the category of leading states of the country by 2025. Many efforts are being made to boost the economy of the state. Action is underway to implement and ground the agreements worth Rs 3.56 lakh crores signed during the Destination Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit. The enthusiasm shown by investors will, in the coming times, increase employment resources for people at the local level and also curb migration from the hills and the state. Along with religious tourism, other tourism activities are also being carried out at a rapid pace. The number of devotees coming for Chardham Yatra in the state is increasing rapidly. To further promote religious tourism in Kumaon division, work is being done rapidly under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission.
The Chief Minister affirmed that respecting the women of the state is also of paramount importance for his government. The state government has made a provision to give 30 percent horizontal reservation to women in government jobs. The Mukhyamantri Lakhpati Didi Yojana has been launched for women empowerment in the state. Under this scheme, a target has been set to make 1.25 lakh women of the state millionaires. The Chief Minister also called upon the people of the state to make their significant contribution to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve of a developed India.
