Bharat Scouts & Guides delegation meets Gov

Dehradun, 7 Nov: On the occasion of the Founding Day of Bharat Scouts and Guides, a delegation of Bharat Scouts and Guides met Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Raj Bhavan, here, on Tuesday.

On this occasion, the delegation presented the state scarf and flag sticker to the Governor. The delegation provided detailed information to the Governor about their future plans.

It is worth noting that after Independence, at the initiative of the Union Cabinet, on 7 November, 1950, after abolishing the Boy-Girl Scouts/Guides and various committees, Bharat Scouts and Guides was established as an organisation. This is celebrated every year on 7 November. The whole of India celebrates it as Flag Day, i.e., Bharat Scouts and Guides Foundation Day.
On this occasion, the Governor obtained detailed information about their training from the scouts and guides selected for the President’s Award present in the delegation, and praised their performance. He said that the number of registered members this year should exceed one lakh and registration should be given priority in all universities. He appreciated the contribution of the Scouts and Guides.
This delegation included Rover Vishal Arya, who was selected for the President’s Award from Uttarakhand this year, Guides Himani Garjola, Diksha Bisht, Kanchan Bhatt along with Regional Headquarters, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Uttarakhand, Secretary Ravindra Mohan Kala, Assistant Administrative Officer BS Rawat and Bimla Pant.
