Haridwar, 4 Dec: In its journey to achieve its vision of becoming “Global Engineering enterprise for Better tomorrow”, Public Sector Undertaking BHEL’s Heavy Electrical Equipment Plant (HEEP) at Haridwar has once again proved its mettle.
In an award ceremony organised by CII, HEEP Unit of BHEL has been awarded the Platinum Recognition of the CII EXIM Bank Award for Business Excellence 2020 through video conferencing. Smart strategies and implementation of best management practices has enabled HEEP to stand out with this Business Excellence award.
Executive Director Sanjay Gulati appreciated the concerted efforts made by the employees and conveyed his congratulations to the whole unit. Gulati said it was an honour to receive the award, which entails additional responsibility of living up to the expectations of the stakeholders.
Many public and private enterprises participated in the six-month long assessment process. Various domain experts, along with a team of seven assessors, carried out the assessment process. With this certification, BHEL-HEEP has established itself among the top companies in India. Notably, BHEL’s HEEP is the first Public Sector Unit to have won the CII-Exim Bank Award for its business excellence initiatives in2006.
CII and Export-Import (EXIM) Bank of India jointly established the award for Business Excellence in 1994 with the aim to enhance the competitiveness of the Indian Industry. The Award is based on the internationally recognised EFQM Excellence Model and is considered to be one of the highest recognitions in the country in the area of Business Excellence. The award has been instituted with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of India Inc.
