Bus from Gujarat carrying pilgrims meets with accident on Gangotri highway

Dehradun, 15 May:  As per the reports reaching here, a bus full of devotees that had come for the Chardham Yatra from Ahmedabad in Gujarat met with an accident near Gangotri Songad early this morning. There was panic among the passengers as the bus overturned. Fortunately there were no cases of serious injuries in the accident though the total number of injured is stated to be 8. In all 18 passengers were travelling in the bus. The cause of the accident is stated to be brake failure.

This mini bus met with the accident due to brake failure near Songard while going towards Gangotri Dham. The local police led by Traffic Inspector Rajendra Nath reached the accident site and took the injured to the Bhatwari Primary Health Centre (PHC) with the help of 108 Ambulance.

The Police also shared the details of the passengers in the bus which met with an accident. They are Vishal Paradia (16); Vaishnavi Paradia (20); Dhruti Paradia (13); Vishal Kumar Vyas (39); Neha Ben Vyas (37); Namay Kumar Vyas (10); Usha Ben Rawal (62); Geeta Ben Vyas (59); Anil Ben Acharya (52); Manoj Kumar Acharya (57); Anil Vyas (64); Daksh Vyas (55); Mita Joshi (59); Deepak Kumar Joshi (58); Avni Joshi (54); Vashishta Joshi (23); Kamlesh Dev (64) and Aruna Ben Dev (61).
