Condolence resolution on Chandan Ram Das passed at cabinet meet

Dehradun, 3 May: Several decisions were taken at the meeting of the State Cabinet held here this afternoon following the return of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami from Delhi.
The cabinet approved 13 proposals presented in the meeting. A condolence resolution was also read regarding Cabinet Minister Chandan Ram Das, who passed away recently. The Cabinet approved an amendment related to royalty on silica sand to bring it in line with the rates prevalent in other states. The cabinet also approved a proposal to set up a distillery at Bajpur Sugar Mill, which has been reopened recently. For this, a loan of Rs 29 crores will be taken by the sugar mill. The cabinet also approved some minor amendments in the Treasury Rules.
The cabinet also approved a proposal to give 20 percent Non Practicing Allowance (NPA) to the veterinarians in the Animal Husbandry Department. This fulfils a long standing demand. To encourage collection of pine needles (locally known as pirul) from the forests to prevent forest fires, the cabinet approved a proposal to give incentive to the practice. The collected pine needles will be used to make pellets.
The cabinet also approved creation of 11 new posts at the Char Dham Yatra office in Rishikesh. Those appointed on these posts will work permanently round the year. The Yatra Administration Organisation has also been renamed the Char Dham Yatra Control Management Organisation following the approval of the cabinet. The cabinet also approved a proposal of the animal husbandry department to draft a new fodder policy in the state. Implementation of this policy will require additional expenditure of Rs 66 crores, which was also approved by the cabinet. The cabinet also approved a new scheme called the Chief Minister’s State Livestock Mission.
