Central Zonal Council meet: Dhami calls for stronger state synergy and security measures

Bastar (Chhattisgarh), 19 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 26th meeting of the Central Zonal Council held in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, today. It was held under the chairmanship of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. The meeting saw detailed deliberations on strengthening coordination among states, enhancing internal security, developing infrastructure, ensuring effective implementation of welfare schemes and advancing regional development.

Placing the concerns of Uttarakhand prominently, the CM said that improved dialogue, cooperation and coordination among states would accelerate the pace of balanced national development. He observed that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, effective measures are being taken to strengthen cooperative and coordinated federalism, the positive results of which are visible across sectors. He also shared at the meeting details regarding preparations for the world-renowned Nanda Raj Jaat Yatra and the grand Kumbh Mela scheduled in 2027 and he stressed that these events are not only significant for Uttarakhand but also for the cultural and spiritual heritage of the entire nation. He underlined the need for coordinated support from the Centre and states to ensure facilities, security, traffic management, infrastructure expansion and smooth arrangements for the large number of devotees and tourists expected from India and abroad.

Dhami reiterated that the state government is working consistently to establish Uttarakhand’s cultural traditions, religious heritage and spiritual identity at the global level. He expressed confidence that with the cooperation of the Centre and other states, the Nanda Raj Jaat Yatra and the Kumbh Mela would be organised in a well-managed, secure and historically successful manner. He also emphasised on the importance of strengthening coordination among border states, controlling cybercrime, improving disaster management systems and maximising the use of technology. He said that to meet modern challenges, exchange of information and joint efforts among states must be further reinforced.

Dhami affirmed that the Uttarakhand government is prioritising welfare, good governance, infrastructure development, tourism, preservation of religious and cultural heritage and empowerment of youth and women.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai and MP CM Mohan Yadav were also present on the occasion.
