New Delhi, 6 Feb: Health Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat called on Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi, today, and urged him to sanction additional funds for the expansion of health facilities along the Char Dham Yatra routes for the upcoming season. He said that, in view of the geographical condition of Uttarakhand, the state government had decided to set up super specialty hospitals on Char Dham Yatra routes, so that pilgrims going on Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Hemkund Sahib and Mansarovar Yatras could be provided special medical care and facilities if and when required.
Rawat impressed upon the Union Minister that lakhs of people visit the Char Dham Yatra every year. The Super Specialty Hospitals would have ultra-modern ICU beds, oxygen beds as well as Cardiac, Neuro, Nephro units. Additional funds had been demanded from the Union Government for the implementation of these schemes.
Rawat later informed the media that the Union Health Minister had been also invited to inaugurate the proposed AIIMS Satellite Centre in Udham Singh Nagar soon and that he had agreed to do so. The Union Health Minister had also agreed to sanction additional funds and package for Char Dham Yatra and for AIIMS Satellite Centre.
State BJP President Mahendra Bhatt and former Pauri MLA Mukesh Koli were also present during the meeting.
