Dehradun, 6 Jul: A Chemotherapy Day Care Ward has come into being from Monday at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, here. The facility of day care is now available for Cancer patients at the hospital. On Tuesday, two female patients were given treatment under the Chemotherapy Day Care Ayushman Scheme.
This information was provided, today, by Medical Superintendent of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dr Anil Kumar Dhawan.
On Tuesday, the Chemotherapy Day Care Ward was inaugurated jointly by Principal, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Dr Anil Kumar Mehta, and Medical Superintendent, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dr Anil Kumar Dhawan. On the occasion, Dr Dhawan said that the treatment of cancer was provided at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital previously also but, now, with the Day Care Ward coming into existence with Chemotherapy facility, the patients will get great relief.
Breast & Endocrine Surgeon Dr Nilkamal Kumar said that with the service starting at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, patients not only from Dehradun but also from far-flung areas of Uttarakhand and nearby states would be considerably benefitted. Dr Kumar added that complete treatment of Breast Cancer with Surgery, Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy are being offered to the patients at the hospital. Super specialist Gynae Cancer Surgeon Dr Yamini Knasal stated that, under the Ayushman Scheme, a female patient was provided chemotherapy for advanced ovarian cancer after which her operation would be done. Another female was given chemotherapy along with radiation for cervical cancer.
Also present were Head Public Relations Officer Bhupender Raturi, Public Relations Officer Harishankar, Sister Sapna, Sister Chandrakala, Brother Neema, etc.
