Chief Secretary orders strict security measures following assault on senior IAS Officer

Dehradun, 7 Nov: Members of the Uttarakhand IAS Association, led by its President, Anand Bardhan, met Chief Secretary Radha Raturi at the Secretariat, here, today.

The members briefed the Chief Secretary about the incident that occurred on 6 November, involving an attack on a senior IAS officer serving in the state administration.

Following the meeting, CS Radha Raturi issued instructions to the Secretary (Home) to take swift and strict legal action against the accused involved in the incident. She also directed a comprehensive review of the security arrangements at the Secretariat to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure effective measures are taken to strengthen safety protocols.

In addition, the Chief Secretary instructed the Secretary of the Secretariat Administration Department to file a formal complaint with the police and immediately review the security measures, including the process of issuing passes for entry into the Secretariat. She emphasised the need for urgent corrective action to avoid any recurrence of such incidents.

The Chief Secretary’s prompt response underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining security and order within the Secretariat and ensuring that similar situations do not arise in the future.
