HALDWANI, 7 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday participated in the three-day Prana Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony at Kalu Siddh temple in Haldwani. The ritualistic consecration ceremony was followed by offering of an ‘chhatra’ (umbrella) at the temple. He took a round of the temple complex inspecting the newly constructed premises of the lofty temple.
On the arrival of Chief Minister Dhami, women carrying urns in traditional attire welcomed him. On the temple premises, the sants greeted Dhami with a Rudraksha garland, in the presence of temple committee president and Peethadheesh Mahant Kalu Giri Maharaj and Mahant Triveni Giri Maharaj. A large number of devotees thronged the venue for th econsecration ceremony.
The rituals were performed by 16 Acharyas under the leadership of Acharya Bhuvan Chandra Tripathi.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM stated that Kalu Siddh temple is a major centre of faith for the local community. He reiterated that preserving the state’s spiritual and cultural heritage while advancing development works is a priority for the government.
He also mentioned that under the road widening scheme, the historic Kalu Siddha temple has been relocated and rebuilt in a grand manner at the new site. This temple is the main centre of faith of the people of the area and the contribution of the temple committee in its beautiful construction is commendable. it may be noted that the temple had to be shifted from its original location.
In addition, Dhami performed cow worship at Lalkuan Municipal Corporation Gaushala. He said cow service is an integral part of the culture of Uttarakhand. Giving the message of cow conservation through cow worship, he said that the protection of mother cow is the identity of Sanatan civilisation.
Also present on the occasion were MP Ajay Bhatt, MLAs Banshidhar Bhagat and Ram Singh Kaida, Mayor Gajraj Singh Bisht, BJP District President Pratap Singh Bisht, Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, DIG Kumaon Riddhi Agarwal, District Magistrate Vandana Singh, and Senior Superintendent of Police Prahlad Narayan Meena.
