On this occasion, progressive farmers will also be honoured. In the agricultural fair, high yield hybrid and non-hybrid advanced seeds of major field crops, modern agricultural machinery, trees and plants as well as agriculture inputs like fertilisers, organic fertilisers and pesticides, etc., will be kept for sale for the farmers. During the fair, special sessions will also be organised where the farmers will be informed about scientific modern farming techniques.
Vice Chancellor of GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Prof Dr Manmohan Singh Chauhan said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will reach Pantnagar Agricultural University at 11 a.m. tomorrow and inaugurate the four-day agriculture fair and also conduct an inspection.
It may be recalled that every year before the sowing of seeds for Rabi and Kharif agriculture seasons, GBPUAT organises Kisan Mela for the farmers. Farmers from many states of the country participate in the fair. Apart from this, farmers from neighbouring country Nepal also reach the fair to buy seeds. It is expected that more than 25 thousand farmers will participate in the fair in four days.
