CM directs officials to promote Yatra for winter abodes of Char Dham shrines

GMVN to offer 10 percent discount for winter stay in guest houses

Dehradun, 29 Nov: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today held a high-level meeting at his official residence at which he directed officials concerned to start the Yatra for the winter abode temples related to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham and to promote it widely. He also announced that devotees visiting these winter abode sites will receive a 10 percent discount while staying in Garhwal Mandal Development Nigam hotels. The CM will review the travel arrangements for these winter stays next week.

Dhami instructed all departments concerned to work on short and long term plans for the Silver Jubilee Festival of Uttarakhand. He asserted that the State Government is making continuous efforts to take the state ahead in line with the expectations and hopes of those who played a crucial role in the formation of Uttarakhand. The CM claimed that, with the cooperation of the state’s people, the State Government is rapidly working to bring Uttarakhand into the category of leading states in every field.

The CM directed the officials to prepare a Road Accident Safety Manual soon to prevent accidents. He instructed the Director General of Police (DGP) to increase night patrolling and enhance police presence on the roads for safety. To make Uttarakhand a drug-free state by 2025, he directed all departments concerned to run an intensive campaign. He urged regular vigilance on those selling narcotics and strict action against those involved. He also sought regular verification of outsiders living in the state on rent.

Dhami said that he would soon visit the districts and stay overnight. During these visits, he would inspect the development works and hold public hearings. He would also inspect various arrangements and cleanliness works in municipal bodies and government offices. Instructions have been given to issue a roster for these inspections.

Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretaries Shailesh Bagoli and Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Director General of Police AP Anshuman, and Vice Chairman of MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari were among those present at the meeting.
