CM flags off Char Dham Yatra from Rishikesh, assures hassle-free trip

RISHIKESH (Dehradun), 3 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Rishikesh to Char Dham Yatra 2025 programme, organised by the Joint Rotation Yatra Management Committee at ISBT, Rishikesh, here on Saturday.  He welcomed the pilgrims embarking on the sacred journey and flagged off 10 buses carrying pilgrims to various Char Dham shrines. Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal was also present.
Dhami extended his greetings to all the religious tourists and sought blessings of Baba Kedar, Badri Vishal,  Gangotri and Yamunotri for their safe pilgrimage. Expressing optimism in respect of a convenient Yatra for the pilgrims, the CM stated that this year’s Char Dham Yatra is expected to break all previous records and set new milestones. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensuring a safe pilgrimage, adding that preparations to ensure this, are being continuously reviewed at all levels. He added that the government aims to make the journey memorable for devotees, allowing them to cherish the golden experiences of Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand upon their return.
In addition, the CM also spoke about the economic impact of the Char Dham Yatra and observed that lakhs of tourists from across India and abroad visit Uttarakhand, generating employment opportunities for the locals. He assured that every possible facility has been arranged for pilgrims and urged them to support the effort to maintain Uttarakhand’s cleanliness and purity. The government is especially focused on ensuring a Green Char Dham Yatra, with a strong emphasis on hygiene and environmental conservation.
Dhami also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the rapid reconstruction efforts in Kedarnath and the master plan for Badrinath Dham. He stated that the upcoming Gaurikund-Kedarnath ropeway will further enhance the convenience of the pilgrimage. He pointed out that, due to the construction of the All-Weather Road, pilgrims now reach the Char Dham shrines from Rishikesh in significantly lesser time. He also appreciated the Joint Rotation Yatra Management Committee for its continuous support to devotees.
Among those present on the occasion included Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, Rishikesh MLA Prem Chand Aggarwal, Mayor Shambhu Paswan, GMOU president Bhaskaranand Bhardwaj, TGMOC President Jitendra Singh Negi, President Sanjay Shastri, Secretary Devendra Singh Rawat, Nandan Singh Rawat, Ramesh Chandra Uprety, Harshvardhan Singh Krishna, and numerous devotees from various states.
