Almora, 23 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today participated in the annual festival of the Kalyanika Dol Ashram, here. On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, a grand religious and cultural function was organised at Dol Ashram. Among those who participated in this function also included former Chief Minister and former Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Govind Giri Maharaj of Shri Ram Mandir Trust.
In this special event hosted by Maharaj Kalyan Das, the founder of Dol Ashram, young girls were worshipped in the form of the Goddess. The Sri Yantra was also worshipped and a week-long Yagya was performed. This function had begun a week ago and it concluded today. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who reached the closing ceremony, congratulated the saints and the devotees and he prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the state of Uttarakhand.
In his address, Dhami observed that Dol Ashram is emerging as a centre point of Sanatan Dharma and education in the state. The various projects of Dol Ashram are running with the spirit of public welfare, which is a highly commendable effort.
Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and former Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari stated that the Dol Ashram is a divinely blessed place and that one experiences spiritual peace by coming here.
The founder of the ashram, Swami Kalyan Das Maharaj said that Uttarakhand is the land of Gods and Goddesses, which has been blessing the state culturally, spiritually and with happiness and prosperity. He insisted that the students studying here are committed towards service to Sanatan culture in the country and the world.
It may be recalled that this annual event organised by the Dol Ashram has played an important role in establishing it as an important religious and cultural centre. Various projects and activities of the Ashram are working towards spreading a positive message in the society.
