Dhami calls on PM Modi

New Delhi, 8 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, here, today. On this occasion, the CM also congratulated PM Modi for the historic BJP win in the Haryana Assembly elections, stating that this victory reflects the faith of the common people in the Prime Minister’s leadership.
The CM also presented a replica of the Kedarnath temple and prasad from Baba Kedarnath to the PM on this occasion. Expressing his gratitude for the Prime Minister’s continuous guidance and support in the development of Uttarakhand, the CM requested Central permission to develop and construct 21 Hydropower projects with a total capacity of 2,123 MW, which have been recommended by Expert Committee-2. He also requested the transfer of three ropeway projects, namely Sonprayag-Gaurikund Kedarnath; Govind Ghat-Hemkund Sahib and Kathgodam-Nainital—for development and operation by the State Government.
Additionally, the CM also sought the PM’s directive to Ministry of Civil Aviation to restart air services for the Dehradun-Gauchar-Dehradun and Dehradun-Chinyalisound-Dehradun air-routes under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) of the Union Government. He informed the PM that he had requested the Civil Aviation Ministry to grant permission to operate small aircrafts on the Chinyalisound airstrip in Uttarkashi district.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to notify two routes, namely, Khairna-Ranikhet-Bangidhar-Bajron Motorway (256.9 km) and the Kathgodam-Bhimtal Lohaghat-Pancheshwar Motorway (189 km) as National Highways to connect Kumaon and Garhwal. He also sought Central approval for the remaining length of the Dehradun Ring Road.
