Dehradun, 21 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, digitally transferred the grant funds received from the Government of India to the industries established under the Industrial Development Scheme here today. The Chief Minister transferred an amount of Rs 90 crore sanctioned to 40 industrial units established in Uttarakhand to the accounts of the beneficiaries. The grant has been approved under the Industrial Development Scheme 2017 of the Government of India. This scheme has been launched to encourage industrialisation in the Himalayan states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, and under this scheme, the manufacturing and service sector units to be established will get a maximum grant or subsidy of up to Rs 5 crores at the rate of 30 percent of the investment made in plant and machinery.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dhami expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal for providing support to the state through the Industrial Development Scheme for the establishment of industries in the state. He said that this is an important scheme for the establishment, promotion and expansion of industries in the state. He said that continuous efforts are being made by the state government to promote industries in the state. Under the Uttarakhand Global Investor Summit, agreements worth about Rs 55,000 crores have already been signed for investment in the state during the meetings and road shows held with various investor groups in London, Birmingham, Delhi, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Dhami said that the work of implementing most of the agreements that have been signed so far is to be completed before the proposed Investors Summit in Dehradun on 8 and 9 December 2023. He said that whatever suggestions are being received in various meetings, are also being considered and implemented as far as possible. Whatever agreements have been made and proposals have been received, further work will be done after fully assessing them. Those industries that will generate local employment will be aggressively encouraged on a priority basis.The Chief Minister said that the industrial and related policies have been made by the state government keeping in mind the interests of investors, industries and the people of Uttarakhand.
