CM visits disaster affected families at relief camp in Tehri, assures support

Ghansali (Tehri), 30 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the disaster relief camp at Government Inter College, Vinak Khal, in Tehri today and took stock of the arrangements made for the affected families there. On this occasion, the CM directed the officials to ensure proper arrangements for children, pregnant women, elderly and disabled people in the relief camp. During the visit, the Chief Minister met the disaster affected people at the camp and enquired about their well-being. He also lent a patient ear to their complaints and demands.

The Chief Minister said he is continuously getting information about the situation since the day of the disaster. Expressing deep condolences at the loss of life, he prayed for the peace of the departed souls and strength to the bereaved family to bear this hour of grief.

The Chief Minister said that due to the geographical conditions of Uttarakhand, natural disasters keep on posing huge challenges for those living in the state and for the administration. Along with preparing for this, it is necessary to control the disaster in the shortest possible time by being alert and vigilant, which the district administration has shown. He also appreciated the efforts of the district administration to provide quick relief to the victims.

Dhami asserted that in this hour of grief and disaster, the Government of India and the State Government are standing in solidarity with the affected people. The process of rehabilitation of Tingarh village has started. Work will be done by making an effective plan after surveying other villages. The work on security walls, school, bridge, embankment, etc., damaged by the disaster will also be carried out quickly. The CM also claimed that lack of funds would not be allowed to come in the way of disaster protection works. He also spoke on the importance of helping each other with patience in this difficult time of disaster.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to be alert about the houses facing threat of damage due to the disaster. The public representatives were also asked by him to help the affected families in every possible way. The disaster affected people should not face any problem and it should be the top priority to bring their public life back on track as before.

District Magistrate Mayur Dixit shared with the CM that a geological survey has been done for rehabilitation of Tingarh village and in principle approval has been granted. Land identification process is underway for the translocation of the villagers. People will be rehabilitated gradually on the basis of land availability. The District Magistrate added that the process of displacement of 28 families of village Kot is already in progress. A temporary cowshed has been identified for about 100 animals of Tingarh.

On this occasion, Vice President, Uttarakhand State Disaster Management, Vinay Rohila, District Panchayat President Sona Sajwan, MLA, Ghansali, Shakti Lal Shah, SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar, District President, BJP, Rajesh Nautiyal, Block Pramukh Bhilangana Vasumati Ghanata, CDO Dr Abhishek Tripathi, ADM KK Mishra and other public representatives, officers, villagers were also present.
