Dehradun, 23 Sep: Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami today visited several shops along Rajpur Road in Dehradun as part of the ongoing “GST Bachat Utsav”. He engaged directly with the local traders and shopkeepers regarding the new GST rates. During the visit, he expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the revised GST rates and described the decision as historic and firmly rooted in public interest. It may be recalled that yesterday, Dhami had also visited the traders in Prem Nagar Market for the same purpose.

The CM stated that the central government has undertaken comprehensive reforms to the GST slabs, which are expected to deliver direct financial relief to lakhs of families and small-scale traders across Uttarakhand. He emphasised that the revised rates would not only ease the financial burden on consumers but also strengthen the economic foundation of local businesses.

On this occasion, Dhami interacted with shopkeepers to gather their feedback and encouraged them to ensure that the benefits of the reduced GST rates are passed on to the general public. He further appealed for the promotion of indigenous goods and urged citizens to actively participate in the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ campaign, which seeks to reinforce the importance of local enterprise and national self-sufficiency.

Announcing that the GST awareness campaign will continue across the state until 29 September, Dhami said that ministers, MLAs, and officials would also be involved in disseminating information at various locations to ensure that more people understand and take advantage of the new GST slabs. He reiterated that the timing of the GST reforms, ahead of the festive season, would significantly enhance household savings and inject fresh momentum into the state’s economy.

During his visit, Dhami once again thanked the Prime Minister, stating that the decision to revise GST rates would prove to be both historic and transformative for the welfare of citizens across the country. MLA Khajan Das, Lal Batti holder Vinay Rohilla and BJP Mahanagar President Siddharth Agarwal were also present during the visit. They also lent support to the Chief Minister’s outreach initiative.
