Dehradun, 13 May: Uttarakhand Congress leaders are upbeat over the huge victory in Karnataka assembly polls. Leader of the Opposition Yashpal Arya claimed that the BJP tried its best to spread hatred in Karnataka and it completely misused the power, but the public has given a befitting reply to the BJP by rejecting communal politics. Arya claimed that the message of the Karnataka election results is defeat of BJP’s negative, communal, hate, polarising, pro-rich, anti-women-youth, socially-divisive policies. It is also a strict mandate against inflation, unemployment, corruption and disharmony. This is the victory of democracy and truth.
On the other hand, former Uttarakhand CM and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat also expressed his happiness over the development and expressed his gratitude towards the people of Karnataka for the resounding victory of the Congress there. He also sought to remind that Karnataka is not an isolated win for the Congress. This win follows the win achieved by the Congress in Himachal Pradesh.  He claimed that the Congress had a similar opportunity to win in Uttarakhand but the party somehow missed the opportunity. However, Himachal Pradesh did not miss the opportunity and seized the power there. He also claimed that the results will favour Congress in 2024 polls. The Congress leaders and workers will remember the wins in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka and work hard with enthusiasm for Congress victory in 2024 General Elections.
There are reports of celebrations in Congress offices across the state over the performance of the party in Karnataka polls.
