Almora, 30 Jun: Uttarakhand Congress Vice President and Almora District Panchayat Election In-charge Dhirendra Pratap arrived in Almora this evening. He will chair a key meeting with party leaders and workers on 1 July at 12:30 p.m. at the Almora District Congress Committee Office, to discuss the upcoming district panchayat elections.
The meeting will be presided over by District Congress President Bhupendra Singh “Guddu Bhai” and will be attended by prospective candidates, senior party leaders, sitting and former MLAs and MPs, as well as office-bearers from the party’s frontal organisations.
After reaching Almora, Dhirendra Pratap strongly criticised the BJP-led Dhami government, stating that heavy rainfall has severely impacted roads, water, electricity, and essential services across the state, while the government is “busy playing the flute like Nero of Rome”.
He termed the one-day suspension of the Char Dham Yatra as an inadequate response, recalling that he was the first to demand an indefinite suspension of the Yatra last week in view of adverse weather conditions.
