Haridwar, 25 Jul: Under the leadership of Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee President Karan Mahara, Congress is continuing its Padyatra to Kedarnath ostensibly to save the prestige of Kedarnath Dham. This Padyatra has been titled, ‘Kedarnath Pratishtha Raksha Pad Yatra’ and today was the second day of the Yatra. Unofficially, the party leaders also claimed that the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi may also join the yatra and lend his direct support to it.
Before starting the pad yatra, workers of Seva Dal hoisted the flag and saluted the State Congress Committee President Karan Mahara. Mahara while addressing the workers and the public claimed that the BJP government is constantly playing with the prestige of Kedarnath Dham and the way an attempt has been made to build a symbolic temple of Kedarnath Dham in Delhi, the Tirtha Purohit and Shankaracharya also described it as an act against the scriptures and hurting faith, due to which the faith of Sanatan devotees has been hurt. They are unable to understand how another temple can take the place of Kedareshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Because in the scriptures, the glory and place of the Jyotirlingas have been clearly mentioned.
Mahara also claimed that 228 kg of Gold in Kedarnath turned overnight into brass and that the issue has been raised by the Congress and it demanded a high level inquiry but the government did not order any inquiry. He alleged that the way BJP government has tried to divide Kedarnath Dham cannot be tolerated at all.
Karan Mahara said that ‘Shankaracharya’ Swami Avimukteshwarananda of Jyotirmath also reacted strongly to the disappearance of 228 kg of gold in Kedarnath and has asked where is the gold? Why has the government not taken action? Instead of giving answers and taking action, the government has insulted Shankaracharya gravely. For which Sanatan lovers will never forgive the BJP government.
On reaching Kailash Gate, Tapovan and Shivpuri, the pad yatra was given a grand welcome by the Congress workers by showering flowers.
On the second day of the yatra, MLA Mamta Rakesh, Manoj Tiwari, former MLA Ranjit Rawat, Om Gopal Rawat, Lalit Farswan, Jyoti Rautela, Dhirendra Pratap, Mahendra Negi Guruji Jayendra Ramola, Godavari Thapali, city president Rakesh Singh, Piya Thapa, Pradeep Thapliyal, Sumit Bhullar, Hema Purohit, Abhinav Thapar, Vijay Kant were among those present.
