Dehradun, 9 Aug: The Uttarakhand Government has yet again extended the Covid curfew in the state by another week till Tuesday morning (17 August). It may be noted that the Covid Curfew has been extended despite the decrease in the cases of corona infection. However, more relaxations have been granted during the latest Curfew extension, including permission for political activities. In this extension, the focus remains on strict restrictions on movement of traffic and people during the night hours.
Most of the continued relaxations were granted two weeks ago, like opening of schools and colleges and gymnasiums and swimming pools. Sports activities have also been permitted. The markets will continue to open for 6 days a week from 8 a.m. till 9 p.m., while they will continue to be closed on Sundays.
The government has also exempted the requirements of mandatory negative RTPCR test report for entry into the state for those who have taken both the doses of Covid vaccinations at least 15 days before travel. Those who are not fully vaccinated will however need to produce a negative RTPCR test report issued within past 72 hours of the date of travel.
It may be recalled that the state is now reporting less than 40 cases per day for the past week and the number of active Corona cases in the state has also gone below 500. As per the health bulletin issued, today, the number of fresh cases in past the 24 hours in the state was 31, while 1 death was also reported. A total of 473 Covid Vaccination sessions were held today with 45,428 persons getting vaccinated. The total number of fully vaccinated persons in Uttarakhand has gone up to 15,96,342 while the number of those partially vaccinated has gone up to 50.69 lakhs.
