Crime Literature Festival Honors Talented Students in Short Films and Stories

Welham Girls' School class 11 student, Amaya Marwah, won the first prize for her story titled 'Survivor.' Amaya was commended for her unique twist to writing a psychological thriller by stalwarts present at the 2nd Crime Literature Festival of India and gave a short summation of her story as well. Festival Director Aloke Lal and Festival Chairman Ashok Kumar, along with Karan Oberoi gave her a certificate and cash prize.

DEHRADUN, 1 Dec: The Crime Literature Festival concluded its three-day event with an awards ceremony celebrating the creative brilliance of students in short films and crime stories writing. The festival, known for its focus on crime and mystery genres, showcased exceptional talent from schools and universities.
The highlight of the final day was the screening of the winning short film, which captivated the audience with its compelling narrative.
The awards were presented by notable personalities, including former DGP Uttarakhand and author Aloke Lal (Festival Director), retired IPS officer and author Ashok Kumar (Festival Chairman), actor and screenwriter Akash Khurana, singer-actor Karan Oberoi, and crime reporter-anchor Shams Tahir Khan.
Short Film Awards: 1st Position- Graphic Era Deemed University, Dehradun; 2nd Position- Graphic Era Deemed University, Dehradun; and 3rd Position- World University of Design, Sonipat.
Crime Short Story Awards: 1st Position- Amaya Marwah; 2nd Position- Yuvraj Pundir; and 3rd Position- Nisha Agarwal.
The festival successfully provided a platform for emerging talent, inspiring the next generation of crime fiction storytellers and filmmakers.
