Dehradun, 24 Sep: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan reviewed the progress of various ongoing construction and reconstruction works under the Badrinath Dham-Kedarnath Dham Master Plan at the Secretariat on Thursday. The Chief Secretary inquired about the asset handover process under the Master Plan. He directed that the construction of six buildings on the Central Street under the Kedarnath reconstruction works be given top priority and work should commence after the pilgrimage season.
The Chief Secretary urged the signing of necessary agreements with the relevant stakeholders to be completed expeditiously to avoid any delay in commencing the work. He also inquired about the various works being undertaken by the Ministry of Culture. He directed the District Magistrate to ensure continuous monitoring of these works so that they can be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
The Chief Secretary issued important instructions not to allow any construction outside the Master Plan area. He stated that a GO should be issued immediately to this effect. He emphasised that construction work should not be permitted by any agency in fragile and avalanche-prone areas. He emphasised that strict adherence to safety and environmental standards should be ensured regarding construction activities in such sensitive areas.
The Chief Secretary also reviewed the progress of various ongoing works under Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Master Plan for Badrinath Dham. He directed the concerned officials to regularly monitor the work and ensure its completion within the stipulated timeframe. The meeting also included information regarding the hospital under construction in Badrinath.
District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar stated that the hospital is scheduled to be operational in approximately 15 days. The Chief Secretary directed that necessary arrangements be completed in time to ensure the hospital’s operational completion within the stipulated timeframe. Present on the occasion were Secretary Dhiraj Singh Garbyal, APCCF Dr Vivek Pandey, Surendra Mehra, CCF Prasanna Kumar Patro, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar, Himanshu Khurana, and Abhishek Rohila, along with District Magistrates from the respective districts.
