Dehradun, 28 Jul: The ‘Uttarakhand Prajna Pravah Devbhoomi Vichar Manch’ will conduct an in-depth study on the impact of religious demographic changes in the state on various aspects such as economy, education, healthcare, employment, social fabric, cultural heritage, and strategic concerns. Articles from experts will also be invited for this study.

A meeting was held today at Nehru Colony to discuss this subject, at which experts deliberated extensively on the rapid migration and religious-based population changes occurring in the state. Bhagwati Prasad Raghav, Regional Coordinator of Prajna Pravah Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, stated that the rapidly changing population dynamics in the state poses a significant challenge to the identity of Devbhoomi. It is essential that scholars and intellectuals thoroughly examine the various factors behind these changes and explore potential solutions.

Expressing his views during the meeting, Dr Devendra Bhasin, Vice-Chairman of the Uttarakhand Higher Education Advancement Council, said that the population change in the state appears to be a deliberate conspiracy. As the state is continuously progressing on the path of development, with improvements in education and healthcare facilities, the growing population pressure in certain areas presents a new type of challenge. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct deep research and study on such changes.

Welcoming the guests, Vikas Saraswat suggested organising a one-day research methodology workshop for conducting an in-depth and evidence-based study on these issues.

The meeting of the Prajna Pravah Study Council was attended by Dr Ravi Dixit, Professor Ajay Pratap Singh, Dr Krishna Chandra Mishra, Vishal, Sumit Prasad, and Professor HC Purohit, etc.
