Dehradun, 2 Sep: BJP state spokesperson Honey Pathak today claimed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government is working with complete commitment to expanding medical education in Uttarakhand and providing better opportunities to the youth. In a statement issued today in reaction to the allegations levelled by Congress, she emphasised that Rudrapur and Pithoragarh government medical colleges are crucial projects for the state’s health and medical education sector, and construction and arrangements are progressing rapidly with the clear objective of launching medical studies in the current academic session so that meritorious students can pursue quality education within the state.
Pathak accused Congress of spreading needless confusion regarding medical colleges and making only a political show of concern for students’ future, while the Dhami government is working seriously on the matter. She said the government is in constant coordination with the departments and at the central level to complete the formalities and the recognition processes in time to ensure that students’ interests remain fully protected. She added that the government’s effort is not merely to erect buildings but to develop a strong medical education and health infrastructure in Uttarakhand, with continuous work on resources, faculty, infrastructure and standards.
Targeting the opposition, Pathak said Congress sees only politics in every development initiative and is trying to create doubts about projects that will provide major opportunities to the youth. She stressed that the Dhami government understands the concerns of students and parents and will not allow anyone to play with their future. She assured that all the necessary steps are being taken to ensure that medical education begins at Rudrapur and Pithoragarh colleges in this academic session itself.
She said Congress should stop unnecessary statements and fear‑mongering and instead support the government’s positive efforts to expand medical education in the state. Pathak reiterated that the Dhami government is working with full responsibility and seriousness and will not show any negligence regarding the future of the youth.
