Dehradun, 4 Apr: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today hailed the recently legislated Waqf Amendment Bill as a significant move towards ensuring transparency, justice and towards protection of constitutional rights for all citizens. Sharing his views on social media, Dhami asserted that this bill indicates Union Government’s commitment to strengthening governance and judicial reforms under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dhami observed that the bill is not targeted at any specific community but aims to safeguard the rights of all citizens. He added that this bill has not been brought against any particular community, but to protect the rights of all citizens. Its implementation will stop false and illegal claims, which will enable fair resolution of disputes related to land and property. The CM further emphasised that the bill seeks to ensure that Waqf properties are not misused and are utilised for the greater good of society.
