Dehradun, 18 Jun: In the run‑up to International Yoga Day on 21 June, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami practised yoga with senior officials and the staff at his residence here today. On the occasion, he described regular yoga as an essential foundation for a healthy and balanced life and urged everyone to make it a part of their daily routine.
The CM also observed that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s ancient yoga tradition has gained new recognition and respect at the global level. Today yoga is accepted worldwide as an effective medium for health, mental peace and holistic well‑being. The CM also emphasised that yoga is not confined to physical health alone but is also a powerful means of attaining mental calm, self‑discipline, a positive lifestyle and balance in life. Yoga inspires individuals to live stress‑free, energetic and healthy lives. He appealed to the people of the state to participate in large numbers in yoga programmes on International Yoga Day and contribute towards taking yoga to every household.
