Dehradun, 17 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the book titled ‘The Heavenly Abode’, based on Pahari food recipes at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office here today.
The Chief Minister said that this was a commendable effort towards promoting local products and local cuisine. He also observed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said about vocal for local. This was a good effort in that direction. Dhami said that the Prime Minister had urged everyone to spend 5 percent of their travel expenses on the purchase of local products.
Smriti Hari and Ashu Jain, the authors of the book, briefed the gathering that the book was about the local cuisine of Uttarakhand. This book has been written in English so that people of other countries and regions also get to know about the local cuisine of Uttarakhand. He said that an attempt has been made to promote millets and organic products of Uttarakhand through the book.
