Dehradun, 13 Aug: Sixty budding shooters of Doon Institute of Shooting and Sports participated in the 22nd State shooting Championship 2024 recently held at the Jaspal Rana Range, Paundha. With motivation and more confidence from the achievements of Manu Bhaker and Jaspal Rana, the young shooters bagged 56 medals at the championship in various events. The shooters won 30 gold, 16 silver and 10 bronze medals.
The medal winners were Yuvika Tomar 3 gold, 3 silver; Sona Kukreti, 3 gold 1 silver; Yohana Tomar, 2 gold 1 silver; Yamaira Tomar, 3 gold; Shalu Tomar, 2 gold; Vaishni Singh, 2 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze; Divyastha Rawat, 3 gold, 2 silver; Divyansh Rawat, 1 gold; Yash Joshi, 1 gold 2 silver; Akshay Joshi, 2 bronze; Puranjay Rana, 3 bronze; Vihaan Dutt Kandwal, 2 bronze; Kerran, 1 bronze; Sahil Rehman, 2 silver; Anshuman, 2 silver; Prerna Gupta, 1 gold 1 silver; Monarch Kumar, 1 gold.
Out of the 60 shooters who participated, 40 shooters have qualified for the pre-nationals and India Open Shooting Championships to be held in the coming months. The shooters are being trained and mentored by Mayank Marwah, International Coach and Judge at the Doon Institute of Shooting and Sports Academy, here.
