Dehradun, 18 Jan: Dr Kuldeep Martolia has been appointed to the post of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Officer in the Uttarakhand Health Department. He assumed charge today. Earlier, Dr Mayank Badola was the IEC officer. Dr Badola has gone to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, on deputation as CMO for 2 years.
Talking to the media after assuming charge, Dr Kuldeep Martolia said that, he and his entire team, would work to ensure that information about all the health programmes of the Central and State Government reaches from the cities to the border areas of the state. At present, the central and state governments are working on war footing to strengthen health services. The common people are getting better treatment in their nearest hospital. The Ayushman Yojana is proving to be a boon for every person. His endeavour would be that every person should be aware of health-related schemes.
Dr Martolia said that work would be done to further strengthen the information system. Along with this, new media tools, especially social media, would be used extensively to promote the schemes of the health department.
Social networking sites such as X, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and blogs would be used.
Dr Kuldeep Martolia was serving as Assistant Director in the Directorate General of Health. Along with this, he also had the important responsibility of implementing the mental health programme in the state.
