Mussoorie, 10 Dec: People are being vigilant about garbage management by running a cleanliness drive here. On Thursday, with the cooperation of the organisations KEEN and Hildari, a cleanliness drive was carried out in Ward 4 of the cantonment, under the leadership of Councilor Pushpa Padiyar.
They collected about 120 kg of garbage from the roadside and drains. People were also made aware about cleanliness. Councilor Pushpa Padiyar said that the cantonment had tourists from all over the world visiting, so the participation of the people was necessary to keep the area clean and beautiful.
She said that it had been seen for some time that, during the night, many people dump the garbage in the forest along the roadside and spread pollution, which could not be tolerated. She said it spoiled the environment of the area and legal action would be taken against those dumping garbage.
Present on this occasion were Councilor Pushpa Padiyar, Supervisor Ashok, Hildari Manager Arvind Kumar Shukla, Kamal Rajput, Abhilash, JE Shashank Chauhan, Computer Programmer Mayank Lakheda, Lata Joshi, Virat Rawat and many others.
