Dehradun, 22 May 2025: BJP leader in charge of the party affairs in Uttarakhand and National General Secretary of the party, Dushyant Kumar Gautam today outrightly rejected the Congress objections regarding the delegations being sent by the Centre to various countries to present the country’s viewpoint on Operation Sindoor. Addressing media at the party headquarters here today during the Tiranga Shaurya Yatra, he said that all the members of the delegation are Indians first and not representatives of any political party.
Gautam also took a strong dig at the opposition, saying that some leaders who are regularly seen on Pakistani television are now leading the Jai Hind Yatra. He also gave an update on the BJP’s state president election process, informing that appointments have been completed in 14 states and the process for the remaining states will be completed soon.
Speaking about the Tiranga Yatra, Gautam praised the Indian Armed Forces’ actions under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that these steps have raised India’s prestige at the international level. He condemned Pakistan’s involvement in terrorism, pointing out that even top Pakistani officials are seen attending the funerals of terrorists. He said that the Yatra is a way to express gratitude and respect towards the armed forces, and people from every section of society, including professionals, paramilitary forces, and common citizens, are taking part in it.
On the Congress’s criticism regarding the foreign delegation, Gautam recalled how Atal Bihari Vajpayee had represented India in the Pratinidhi Mandal during Narasimha Rao’s government. He appealed to opposition leaders to show unity and not question the government’s representatives who are travelling abroad. He also warned that making statements in favour of Pakistan could prove costly for them politically.
Taking a jibe at Congress-led tours, Gautam questioned how such tours could boost national morale when their leaders are frequently highlighted on Pakistani TV Channels for criticising India’s government and army. He also accused Congress leaders of echoing the voices of Pakistan and China, saying that such statements weaken India’s position on the global stage.
