Haridwar, 19 Sep: “Ensure that the development work going on in the district is completed with quality and timeliness.” Secretary, Transport and Mining, Brijesh Kumar Sant gave these instructions to the officers of all departments while reviewing the development work going on in the district at a meeting held in the Vikas Bhavan auditorium.
He said that all officers and employees should ensure to work with full dedication. The benefits of public welfare schemes being run by the Central and State Government should reach the eligible people in the remotest areas. Special attention should be paid to quality, timeliness, transparency in the implementation of the schemes. The benefits should reach all the eligible people.
During the review of Lakhpati Didi Yojana, he directed that maximum number of women should be made Lakhpati Didis. During the review of the supply department, he stated that a proposal be sent to the government to increase the quota of units in the district. On the lines of old age pension, a proposal should be made for exemption related to adult children for disabled pension and sent to the government. During the review of the Agriculture Department, he directed that organic farming should be promoted in the district, and soil health tests should be conducted. He added that the works going on under Jal Jeevan Mission should be completed within three months. Officials of the Health Department were asked to prepare a proposal related to the inspection of empanelled hospitals under Ayushman Yojana and send it to the government.
He said that the ongoing development works in the district would be reviewed every month and verified by conducting on-site inspections. The officers were asked to participate in the upcoming meetings with updated information on the ongoing works.
During the review of the Transport and Mining Department, he directed that the target given for the current financial year should be achieved expeditiously and, under no circumstance, revenue less than the target should be collected.
Chief Development Officer Akanksha Konde gave detailed information about irrigation, agriculture, animal husbandry, medical, supply, MNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana urban and rural, horticulture and food processing, education, child development, social welfare, Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, etc., through a power point presentation. The Chief Development Officer presented local products produced by self-help groups to the Secretary Transport as a souvenir.
