Rudraprayag, 20 May: The 16th Finance Commission Chairman Dr Arvind Panagariya, along with other Commission members, visited the revered Kedarnath Dham this morning. Upon reaching the shrine’s entrance, he offered prayers to Lord Kedarnath, seeking blessings for the happiness, prosperity, and welfare of the people.

Following the pilgrimage, Panagariya conducted a field inspection of the ongoing reconstruction work in Kedarpuri. He noted that development efforts in Kedarnath were progressing rapidly with a focus on high quality. Appreciating these initiatives, he commended the Uttarakhand government and the administration for prioritising the safety and convenience of devotees.

During the inspection, Dr Panagariya emphasised that Kedarnath Dham is not just a centre of religious faith but also a significant natural heritage site nestled in the Himalayas. He praised the scenic beauty surrounding the Dham, describing it as a rare blend of environmental harmony and spiritual tranquillity. Other Commission members also lauded the available facilities and arrangements, highlighting the revival of this pilgrimage site as a matter of national pride.
