Dehradun, 4 May: A little support can go a long way when it comes to making career decisions. The appetite to succeed is crucial but with the plethora of choices that exist today, making the right decisions to ensure that the learning journey supports one’s career is the key. That is where ‘Find Your True North’ (FYTN) has been successfully supporting students across Dehradun. Founded by Pooja Khanna, faculty, and career coach at the School of Liberal Studies, UPES, this homegrown platform is designed to encourage creativity and enhance problem-solving skills.

Nurtured by Runway, an incubation initiative by the UPES Council for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (UCIE), this AI-based career coaching platform helps individuals explore their strengths, develop their skills, and find the right career path for them. So far, over 800 students have benefitted from the platform. Their tailored approach focuses on making recommendations based on a thorough examination of a student’s beliefs, interests, personality, and educational background.

‘Design Your North: Ideas to Impact’, the on-ground event held in April, this year, has helped students explore the possibilities that lie ahead for their area of study and zero down on potential career paths. Packed with interactive learning sessions, the event also featured a series of speeches, panel discussions and meets and greet with 18 experts from different walks of life and professions.

Students from various schools participated and presented their groundbreaking ideas to the distinguished panel of judges. Cambridge School won the best team trophy for their solution on road accidents on inclined roads and Doon Presidency and Bal Bharti School bagged the runner-up trophy.

“We are thrilled to see the response received from students across the board and look forward to organising more such events to inspire and guide young minds to achieve their full potential. Our mission is to help young people find their true calling,” said Pooja Khanna.

Founded in 2022, the start-up has secured funding of Rs 20 lakhs at the Runway Incubator programme by UPES, which gave Pooja the push to grow and scale the initiative.
