Rishikesh, 13 Dec: A meeting of the residents of Rishikesh was convened today in the Gurudwara premises, here, to discuss the celebration of the Prakash Parv of Dasham Patshah Sri Guru Gobind Singh and the organisation of a free health camp. The meeting was attended by individuals from all walks of life in the city, who shared their thoughts and ideas.
Sardar Narendrajeet Singh Bindra, President of the Gurudwara Trust, presided over the meeting and informed the gathering that the Prakash Parv of Guru Maharaj will be celebrated with great fervour on 6 January, 2025, at Gurudwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib, Lakshman Jhula Road, Rishikesh. On the occasion of Gurupurab, a free health camp will also be organised on 29 December, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Bindra shared that specialist doctors will provide their services at the camp, and needy individuals can get their health checked and receive health-related information. The trust will also provide free medicines, and facilities such as breast screening, cervical cancer screening, and colposcopy will be available, along with X-rays, ECGs, liver tests, and other tests as needed. Facilities for blood donation will also be available for those interested.
Registration for the health camp can be done on 25, 26, and 27 December, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All the individuals present at the meeting appreciated the programmes related to Gurupurab and the health camp and assured their full cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Anita Mamgain, former Mayor of Rishikesh, Harshvardhan Sharma, Madan Mohan Sharma, SS Bedi, Manga Singh, Vinay Uniyal, Rajendra Sethi, Mahant Balbir Singh, Naval Kapoor, Prem Singh Dang, Gagan Bedi, Gurbachan Singh, Bimla Rawat, Subhash Kohli, Virendra Sharma, Vikky Sethi, Usha Rawat, Vinod Sharma, SN Dobhal, and employees of the Gurudwara Trust.
Bindra thanked all the dignitaries present at the meeting and appealed to the needy to take advantage of the health camp. He also invited the residents of the city and surrounding areas to attend the Prakash Parv celebrations at the Gurudwara.
Last year, around three thousand people benefited from the medical camp.
