Srinagar, Garhwal, 17 Jun: The Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University’s PhD Entrance Exam will now be held on 12 July. The university administration has finalised the exam date by issuing an official order. Previously, on 16 May, the university had postponed the entrance exam until further notice. Garhwal University Registrar Prof YP Raiwani stated that the decision to hold the PhD entrance exam on 12 July was made after the approval of the competent authority. He added that, in light of the representations received through various channels and the demand from candidates, the university administration has decided to reopen the online application process. The Samarth portal will be active for two days on 22 and 23 June. Interested candidates will be able to submit their online applications during this period. The university administration has clarified that no request for an extension of the application date will be considered after the deadline. According to the university’s order, only candidates who have completed their minimum qualifying examination or relevant degree by the 2024-25 academic year will be eligible to appear for the PhD entrance examination. Students studying in the 2025-26 academic year will not be considered eligible for the current admission process. The university administration has urged candidates to complete the application process in a timely manner and to monitor the university’s official website and notifications for the latest information regarding the entrance examination.
